What is polycarbonate?
Polycarbonate, widely known as PC, is a thermoplastic polymer. It has high impact strength, high dimensional stability, and good electrical properties amongst other plastics. Thanks to these attributes, polycarbonate has a wide application in making compact disc, safety helmets, bullet-proof glass, car headlamp lenses, baby feeding bottles, roofing and glazing etc.
Why should we recycle polycarbonate?
Due to the wide application of polycarbonate, a large quantity of waste polycarbonate are generated every day. Improper disposal of waste polycarbonate produces harm to the environment which is widely known as “White Pollution”. White pollution not only adversely affecting nature’s beauty but also leads to health hazards. Landfill is not a long term solution, because the degradation cycle of current plastics is at least 200 years in general. Polycarbonate is a versatile and highly recyclable material, so it makes great sense of recycling waste polycarbonate products. Polycarbonate recycling process
Polycarbonate products are in different shapes. Some of them are collected and then baled by a baler for easy transportation to recycling center. Shredding is a primary step in waste polycarbonate’s recycling process. Plastic recycling facilities firstly sort the collected waste polycarbonate and then use polycarbonate shredder to shred the large sized waste into manageable pieces. After shredding, the shredded pieces are then further washed and dried. At last, the cleaned pieces a is melted down and reprocessed into small pellets or pulverized resin, which can be used to make a variety of new polycarbonate products.

PC Polycarbonate Pulverizer Description:
The PC disc grinding pulverizer machine of the PNMF series is available with disc diameter from 300 to 800 mm. These plastic pulverizer machines are high speed, precision grinders for the processing of medium hard, impact resistant and friable materials. The material to be pulverized is introduced through the centre of a vertically fixed grinding disc which is mounted concentrically with an identical high speed rotating disc. Centrifugal force carries the material through the grinding area and the resulting powder is collected with a blower and cyclone system. Depending on the application the machines can be equipped with one piece grinding discs or grinding segments.
