What is PS?
Polystyrene (PS for short) is a polymer synthesized from styrene monomer by free radical addition polymerization, and its chemical formula is (C8H8) N. It is a kind of colorless transparent thermoplastic, with glass conversion temperature higher than 100℃, so it is often used to make a variety of disposable containers that need to withstand the temperature of boiling water, as well as disposable foam lunch boxes.
PS Features:
Polystyrene has good fluidity, good processing performance, easy coloring and good dimensional stability. It can be processed into various parts by injection molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, foaming, thermal molding, bonding, coating, welding, machining, printing and other methods, especially for injection molding.
A, mechanical properties: high strength, fatigue resistance, dimensional stability, creep is small (there is little change under high temperature conditions);
B, heat aging: enhanced UL temperature index of 120~140℃ (outdoor long-term aging is also very good);
C. Solvent resistance: no stress cracking;
D. Water stability: easy to decompose in water (use with caution in high temperature and high humidity environment);

F, molding machinability: ordinary equipment injection or extrusion. Because crystallization speed is fast, fluidity is good, mold temperature is also lower than other engineering plastics requirements. When processing thin-wall parts, it only takes a few seconds and only takes 40-60s for large parts.
PS Application:
PS is widely used in the optical industry, this is because it has good light transmittance caused by it, can make optical glass and optical instruments, can also make transparent or bright colors, such as lampshades, lighting appliances, etc. PS can also be used to produce many electrical components and instruments that work in high-frequency environments. Because PS plastic is a difficult inert surface material, industrial lamination, the need to use professional PS glue bonding.
