Fiber Pulverizer Solutions

What Is a Fiber Pulverizer and How Does It Work?

A fiber pulverizer is a high-speed precision grinding machine designed to convert fibrous materials — including glass fiber, carbon fiber, synthetic textiles, and polymer fibers — into fine powder ranging from 20 to 120 mesh. At WANROOETECH, our PNMP series turbo-type pulverizers utilize high-speed rotating blades and fixed blades to impact-cut fibrous materials, preventing the wrapping and slippage issues common with disc-type systems when processing (tough) materials.

Core Working Principle

Material is fed through the hopper into the grinding chamber, where high-speed rotor blades (up to 3,000–4,000 RPM) impact against fixed stator blades. This impact-cutting action effectively severs fiber strands into uniform powder. The milled powder is collected via a cyclone separator and fan system, with integrated vibrating sieve for automatic particle classification. A water-cooling system maintains chamber temperature to prevent thermal degradation of synthetic fibers.

What Types of Fiber Can Be Processed?

Our industrial fiber pulverizers handle a wide spectrum of fibrous materials:
Fiber Type Common Applications Recommended Model
Glass Fiber (Fiberglass) Composite recycling, filler materials PNMP-600 / PNMP-800
Carbon Fiber Aerospace scrap, automotive parts PNMP-600 / PNMP-800 (explosion-proof config)
PET / Polyester Fiber Textile waste, bottle flake recycling PNMP-500 / PNMP-600
Nylon (PA6/PA66) Industrial yarn, fishing net recycling PNMP-500 / PNMP-600
Aramid Fiber Bulletproof vest scrap, high-performance composites PNMP-600 + cryogenic pre-treatment
PP / PE Fiber Woven bag, rope, geotextile recycling PNMP-500 / PNMP-600 / PNMP-800

Note: For heat-sensitive or ultra-fine fiber powder requirements (>120 mesh), we recommend integrating our PNCP cryogenic pulverizer with liquid nitrogen cooling as a secondary precision grinding stage.

Why Choose WANROOETECH Fiber Pulverizers?

Dual Disc Technology. Our PNMP-Pro series uses two grinding discs instead of one, doubling throughput while cutting energy use by 35–50%. Wear distributes evenly across both discs, and particle size stays consistently uniform.
Smart Control System. The PLC-based HMI adjusts grinding gaps to micron precision and automates feed rates in real time. Switch from glass fiber to nylon without reconfiguration — one machine handles your full material range.
Complete Turnkey Package. Cyclone collection, vibrating sieve with interchangeable screens, automatic regrinding loop, and dust collector all ship as standard. The integrated design delivers 95%+ powder yield out of the box.
Built for Abrasive Duty. SKF bearings, Siemens motors, and D2/SKD-11 tool steel grinding discs withstand continuous fiber processing. Water-cooled stainless steel piping prevents heat degradation. Proven reliability across 80+ countries.
Model Disc Diameter Main Motor Capacity Powder Fineness
PNMP-500 500 mm 37 kW 100–300 kg/h 20–120 mesh
PNMP-600 600 mm 55 kW 200–500 kg/h 20–120 mesh
PNMP-800 800 mm 75 kW 300–800 kg/h 20–120 mesh
PNMP-1000 1000 mm 110 kW 400–900 kg/h 20–120 mesh

Fiber Pulverizing Process Flow

Pre-Size Reduction Raw fiber waste is fed into a WANROOETECH single or double shaft shredder to reduce material to <100 mm lengths, ensuring consistent feed into the pulverizer.
Precision Grinding Sized material enters the PNMP turbo-type pulverizer. High-speed rotor blades impact against fixed stator blades at 3,000–4,000 RPM, severing fibers to target fineness (20–120 mesh) with integrated cooling to prevent thermal degradation.
Classification & Collection Ground powder discharges through a cyclone separator into a collection silo. A vibrating sieve classifies particles; oversize material returns automatically to the grinding zone via the regrinding loop.
Dust Control & Final Output Pulse-jet or bag-type dust collector captures airborne fines. Finished powder is conveyed to packaging or downstream processing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can your pulverizer handle continuous glass fiber strands?
A: Yes. The PNMP turbo-type impact-cutting action is specifically designed to sever continuous strands without wrapping. We recommend pre-cutting to <100mm using our PNDS series single-shaft shredder for optimal feeding consistency.
Q: Why not PNMP disc-type for fiber?
A: PNMF uses shear grinding between two discs. Fibrous materials are tough and elastic, causing them to wrap around the discs rather than cut. This results in severe production loss, overheating, and frequent downtime. PNMP’s impact-cutting solves this fundamentally.
Q: What is the typical powder yield rate?
A: For clean fiber waste, yield rates exceed 95%. Contaminated or mixed materials may require pre-treatment.
Q: Do you provide installation and training?
A: Yes. WANROOETECH offers on-site installation, operator training, and lifetime technical support.
Q: Can I test my material before purchasing?
A: Absolutely. Contact us at [email protected] to arrange material testing at our facility in Zhangjiagang, China.
